Growing up in Australia with a farm near the sea, Jonty spent many a moon floating in the cool Western Port Bay waters. Following a keen interest in physics and the natural environment he studied those very fluids through degrees in civil engineering and fluid mechanics. Fluids has given him the opportunity to assist the construction of offshore windfarms throughout Europe and the US, developing bespoke software programs, construction schedules and installation strategies. He is thankful for everything and is still happiest floating in cool ocean waters, even more so now that he knows what is going on around him.
From as early as he can remember Riz has loved the sea. With this passion driving him he ultimately completed a doctorate in Hydrodynamics and went onto become a specialist Metocean Engineer. Along the way, heβs grateful to have had the opportunity to support large infrastructure projects and offshore operations across Europe, Asia, Africa and the US. At his heart Riz believes strongly in honesty, integrity, and respect. With these core values he strives to maintain an optimistic studious outlook on life, and work.
Since his first computer and Lego sets, Alex has harboured a love for both engineering and coding, and managed to combine the two with a degree in theoretical physics followed by a PhD in extreme wave and wind interactions. Alex provides specialist advice to ODSL in all areas of wind and wave statistics, ensuring that our results are always rigorous and reflect the state of the art in offshore science.
